BREAKING NEWS: FCT High Court Grants Interim Restraining Orders Against Nigeria Navy And Nigerian Army

The FCT high court sitting in Bwari presided over by justice O A Oathman on Wednesday 19th August 2020 granted interim orders against the Nigerian army

The FCT high court sitting in Bwari presided over by justice O A Oathman on Wednesday 19th August 2020 granted interim orders against the Nigerian army and navy and one RTD wing commander Emmanuel Ajenu from further compulsory taking over the plot of land known as PLOT M 147 and 149 OF 2200SQM IN KUBWA EXTENTION 111 FCDA SCHEME-ABUJA and further arresting or dehumanizing one Mr. Callistus Chukwu over his claim to ownership of the above land pending the determination of the substantive matter.

The issue that gave raise to this case was that on 26th July 2020, wing commander Emmanuel Ajenu RTD alongside certain unidentified masked officers of the Nigerian army and navy invaded the the land which is in FCDA scheme Kubwa, Abuja wherein the said plot land was invaded by the aforementioned persons above.

They all further destroyed the applicants bakery which was on the said land and all other facilities on the land, with all the wanton destruction of mr Callistus Chukwu property amounting to over 10 million naira.

Reacting to this, popular Abuja based lawyer and activist and the plaintiff’s lawyer Samuel Ihensekhien jnr praised te ruling court and quoted saying ” the use of self and brute force to take over any property is not acceptable in our nascent democracy, illegality by any institution against any personality cannot stand and this ruling is an evidence to that effect”. He further stated that steps will be taken to ensure that COMMANDER EMMANUEL AJENU RTD and the Nigerian army fully comply with the court orders and thanked all and sundry for support.
